Esteemed Italian Painter Visits Lower Division Art Classes
Mar 12, 2024
Esteemed Italian painter Francesco Lietti spent two weeks with students in second through fifth grade to create a mural that depicts the Tampa skyline and includes visual references to beach life, life in and on the water, wetlands, preserves, flora, and fauna.
Each of the 12 classes got three mural sessions. The finished mural will be hung in Berkeley’s Lower Division Activity Center. The special visit was coordinated by Sabreena Jeru-Ahmed, the Lower Division Fine Arts Teacher.
Lietti, who lives in Hong Kong, is known for his colorful murals that depict city skylines. He studied architecture in Milan and furthered his studies in Paris at the Ecole des Beaux Arts, La Seine, and at the Clerkenwell College of Printing in London. His works are featured in private collections worldwide.
His visit was also covered by Fox 13.
